Chinese legend believes China can no longer compete on the world stage
Chinese Esportsman Wang "Ame" Chunyu believes that Chinese Dota 2 teams couldn't compete with teams on the world stage. He said this on a
personal broadcast.
Ame believes that the reason China has given up is that the amount of prize money that Esportsmen can win at tournaments is too low. It's easier for them to become streamers and earn a high income regularly. Previously, Team Secret captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov stated a similar reason for the weakening of teams from China.
In the past few years, the Chinese Dota 2 scene has lost its power. While teams regularly won major championships, at the previous Lima Major 2023, the strongest team in China was Team Aster, which finished in 7th-8th place.
🇨🇳Ame started his professional Dota 2 career in 2015 and spent most of it in the PSG.LGD structure. He went inactive after the failure at The International 2022, where the team finished 5th-6th as the main championship favorite.
