First day results of the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 Playoffs

The first day of the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 Playoffs is over. Unlike the Group Stage, which gave us many unexpected moments, the final stage results were still going predictably.

Evil Geniuses 2:0 Fnatic

The tournament's final stage was opened by a meeting between the American and South Asian Leagues' champions. The first map between the teams lasted only 26 minutes and ended with a victory for Evil Geniuses. Starting the second map, Fnatic decided to surprise the opponents and took Techies as a support. The map lasted 50 minutes, but the feeling didn't leave that Evil Geniuses looked much better both as a team and individual players during the entire game.

As a result, the American team won a landslide victory and passed to the Upper bracket's semifinals.

Invictus Gaming 2:1 Vici Gaming

The second match of the day was held between two teams from China: Invictus Gaming that had just started their play, and Vici Gaming that had made their way here through the Wild Card and Group Stage.

The match between the teams was full of active movements. For three maps, the teams made 147 kills in total. Playing the second map, they were so carried away by the fight that at some moment, they even forgot to pick up the items that fell from Roshan.

In a tense struggle, Invictus Gaming proved to be stronger. The team passed to the Upper bracket's semifinals.

Team Secret 2:0 Thunder Predator

Apparently, the Thunder Predator magic that the team used in the Group Stage doesn't work on Team Secret. The European team didn't allow their opponents to achieve a minimal advantage in gold for 2 maps. However, to Thunder Predator's credit, they tried to play as the first number even with a huge gap.

Now the Peruvians will have a meeting against Team Aster in the Lower bracket.

PSG.LGD 2:0 Virtus Pro

The day's final match was held between the CIS region champion, Virtus Pro, and PSG.LGD that had made their way to this stage from the Wild Card stage. The result of this match was the hardest to predict. Many people expected Virtus Pro to win. On both maps, PSG.LGD kept the advantage from the very beginning to the end and brought them to victory.

Virtus Pro falls into the Lower bracket, where they will face Quincy Crew.

Tomorrow the tournament will have 4 matches of the Lower bracket. It means tomorrow we will know the names of teams that will take the places from 9 to 12.
