T1, PSG.LGD and Quincy Crew make it to TI 10: The results of the first day of the WePlay AniMajor Playoffs

Late last night, the first day of the WePlay AniMajor Playoffs, where the DPC Regional Leagues champions started to play, came to an end. There were 4 matches in the Upper bracket. Each winner advanced to the semifinals, while the losers fell to the Lower bracket.

T1 2:0 Team Aster

The gaming day began with a bit of a scoop. South Asia's T1 beat Team Aster, securing their place in the WePlay AniMajor and a direct ticket to The International 10. The next match for T1 will be on June 11, when Quincy Crew will oppose them.

T1 dictated the match itself, and both maps were extremely fast. On the first one, the South Asian team surprised the opponent with an offlane Broodmother. On the second one, ??23savage got his signature Lifestealer and finished the map by the 26th minute with no a single death.

PGS.LGD 2:0 Alliance

The second match was PSG.LGD vs. Alliance. In contrast to the first one, there was no sensation: an easy victory by the Chinese team and another direct invite to The International 10 as a result.

The first map of this meeting deserves special attention. In contrast to the second, the European team had a solid lead for a long time and played number one, but a bad fight near Rosh Pit on the 31st minute decided the match's outcome. The second map was played to the complete dictation of the Chinese team. Their support, ??XinQ, distinguished himself by playing Mirana and finishing with a score of 8/3/17.

Quincy Crew 2:1 NoPing

This match started earlier than planned, all due to the postponement of the match between Virtus Pro and Nigma. In terms of hot moments, this match was the most spectacular. The teams played a complete BO3 series, but the result of the third map wasn't known until the end.

The winners of the meeting, Quincy Crew, guaranteed themselves a direct invite to The International 10, and NoPing fell to the Lower bracket, where they will play today against Evil Geniuses.

Nigma 2:0 Virtus Pro

The last match of the first day was a duel between the European and CIS regions. Due to the poor health of the Nigma midlaner, ??Miracle-, the start of the match was rescheduled for several hours and started late at night. The series itself ended in a flawless win for Nigma.

The most interesting of the two maps was the first one. On it, Virtus Pro had a solid lead for a long time, but one unfortunate fight decided everything. Nigma ultimately dictated the second map.
