The Gladiators Dismantle G2.IG In The Lower Bracket
The Gaimin Gladiators were tasked to face G2.iG in the Lower Bracket of the Elite League Playoffs. The Western European side is looking to reclaim their throne as the most successful team in 2023, winning the series with a dominant 2-0.
Both maps were not close at all, as the Gladiators stomped both maps in less than 40 minutes. Quinn displayed a masterclass performance throughout the series, going 14/1/37 in both maps combined.
With this 2-0 result, the Gladiators move on through the Elite League Playoffs, while G2.iG exit the tournament in a respectable 7-8th place finish. Yesterday, Monet and the team had to play a three-way tiebreaker to determine one Upper Bracket spot. It turns out that the tiebreaker did matter for G2.iG, as they blew their one and only chance in the Lower Bracket.
Still, we have to remember that G2.iG came into the tournament in short notice. LGD Gaming withdrew from the tournament, and the now-eliminated squad became last-minute replacements.
